He became famous starting in the 1970s as one half of the cannabis-infused comedy duo Cheech & Chong. Today, much has changed and Cheech Marin is no longer an icon of any counterculture. Now his Cheech’s Private Stock is a 100% legal, legitimate, and taxed business that sells cannabis products.
I met him in person in Las Vegas at NuWu Cannabis Marketplace, just one stop on a very busy Vegas promotional tour he’s doing to promote Cheech’s Private Stock.
When I told him I remember the very first time I heard Cheech & Chong’s “Sister Mary Elephant” (1973), he got a twinkle in his eye and said, “A long time ago!” Fortunately, that’s still available to listen to today and I invite you to spend a few minutes laughing at how things were back when the counterculture focused upon cannabis.
