How sad, though not at all surprising: Amy Winehouse is dead at age 27. Her recordings remain to provide intense emotional experiences for those of us who respected and admired her as a musician. Her personal life, however, was caught up in drugs and tragedy–both of which informed her painfully self-revealing musical expression.
