I would like to thank you for this history of KHJ Radio. I was an employee on my first full-time job following my completion of my community college life at Los Angeles City College in Broadcasting in June,1965. I was introduced to KHJ Boss Radio by the Department Director of the radio and television broadcasting department who was Donald (Don) O’Neil who also worked at KHJ Radio as a weekend news broadcaster. KHJ AM and TV was looking for a graduating student to work in the mailroom of the station. I was hired by Don Shuman who was the Office Supervisor who worked in the Accounting Department which included Purchasing. This was my start in Purchasing and as of June, 1965. I recently retired from the Automobile Club of Southern California after 36 years of service on December 1,2008.

Boss Radio will never go away.  Krth FM 101.1 on the FM dial was born while I was with the station simocasting both AM and FM together. Krth FM will always keep the Oldies but Goodies alive forever.
I can remember working and speaking to the late Robert W. Morgan many times as he was your morning man.  I was so happy when he got together with Shelly Gordon, Ron Jacobs lead lady and Secretary.  They made a great couple and with their marriage, I know they were both very happy together for many years until Robert W. passed away. I also knew Sam Riddle and Winston (Wink) Martindale. I remember the promotion that Ron Jacobs put together which I was one of the hosts on the “Last Train to Clarksville” and how the beach eas turned into the city of Clarksville with turned into one of the greatest beach parties ever on San Clemente Beach.
